When a feller hasn't got a cent
And is feelin' kind of blue,
And the clouds hang thick and dark
And won't let the sunshine thro',
It's a great thing, oh my brethren,
For a feller just to lay
His hand upon your shoulder in a friendly sort o' way.
It makes a man feel queerish,
It makes the tear-drops start.
And you kind o' feel a flutter
In the region of your heart.
You can't look up and meet his eye,
You don't know what to say
When a hand is on your shoulder in a friendly sort o' way.
Oh this world's a curious compound
With its honey and its gall;
Its cares and bitter crosses,
But a good world after all.
And a good God must have made it,
Leastwise that is what I say,
When a hand is on your shoulder in a friendly sort of way.

beautiful ain't it. friendship is sucha wonderful thing.

the recent episode of the missing camera has got me questioning myself on how well i actually know my new friends, their credibility doesn't match the kind of trust i place in them. sadly, they have breached my trust. honestly, i'm disappointed. i just keep hoping i'm so wrong.

even my new found friends from college who i hung out with for a whole 2 months together, are now merely aquaintances i've once known. i hardly know anything about them, and we don't meet up much, other then that ocassional bump into at the grocery store or that ocassional gathering, chat over msn, and blog visits; we don't keep in touch much anymore. that's not the way friends are.

being friends is not merely about having fun with in the midst of each other's company. friends should be there for one another, friends talk, and share their problems, ask for opinions and advices. and we can simply do that because we're friends. that's what real friends do, tell you straight when you stray without having to worry about offending. i think that's the best way to show concern, afterall your friends do know you best (:

Good friends are like stars. You don't always see them, but you know they are always there.

cheers.
