upset over the terrible cupcakes we baked last week, i decided to try it out again, thanks to the advice and tips chris gave me, i found a comfortable way to do it, the cupcakes turned out pretty well. (: orange flavoured cranberry muffins. only 8 small pieces, almost all gone, i halved the recipe, since i decided on the trial an error process. i still think the recipe from the cook book can be perfected more. one of the reasons i've decided to buy my own recipe journal instead.

i wanted to make the cards for christmas, but at this rate, i think i'll just have to buy them.

so i've pretty much marked out certain stuff i thought i would get for the house. the thoughest choices yet are the lightings & pillow cases, im spoilt for choice, i simply cant decide, on the other hand, im not crazy abt anyone just yet. there's so much too be done, so much to clear, for one, i cant start without doing something abt the state of my room. i've concluded if i should throw away some of those plastic bags piling up behind my bag, i reckon i'll never know what was gone in the first place.

tmr is the sisters day out (: wheee!

we've bought two sofas in dirty purple velvet like material for 650, which i think is quite a steal. we didn't really find any pieces from ikea that we like, perhaps the closest we got to it was a two piece brown leather sofa.

i'm looking for a coffee table, lightings & a cushions. any ideas where to get from? i've been to ikea, park mall & holland village already. ikea had simple and common pieces, which i didn't really like, lol, that's one thing about being a designer, you love different things. park mall was quite a disappointment, other than a few good shops like empire, philippe starck @ x-tra, and a dsomething i forgot it's name, the rest of the pieces were either common or impractical, anyway there was nothing there we wanted. LOL, holland village had almost nothing at all.

mum & i struck a 3000 dollar deal.

we made a trip down ikea to buy some frames for my experimental photocopying images. she was so mesmerised by the neat pretty showrooms.

mum says why don't i just give you three thousand, and you can use it how you deem fit to redesign our living room.

so she says if i can do that she will peng san(whatever that means)

so i took up mum's challenge. my part of the bargain is, i could throw away whatever i like, and she is not to retrieve or even look into my trash bags. but she gave her sneaky laughter, which i don't very much trust. pleasee, remember that time i threw away books, she just had to pick out a thick book on the respectable mr lee kwan yew, she hasen't even touched it once ever since.

don't you simply love paper chase!

raindeers are the in-things this season, for the fun of it, does anyone want to exchange christmas cards? (: snailmail is so fun & way more sincere and personal, a pity the internet killed all our fun.

i've got nic chia & santa (haha, some personal project thingy) on my list already, you guys will get your cards early though, i'll be flying out on the 18th.

haha, i love the photography, such funny raindeers, (: it's the christmas joy. christmas joy!
new word in my dictionary!

vol‧a‧tile[vol-uh-tl, -til or, especially Brit., -tahyl] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation
–adjective
1.evaporating rapidly; passing off readily in the form of vapor: Acetone is a volatile solvent.
so i went over to help chris bake yesterday (: she says im the second person she has allowed into her kitchen. so wheeee! it was fun, & i've learnt a lot of stuff from her. the think about baking with her, is that you don't have to worry about how everything will turn out. LOL.
i think practising design is like growing everyday.
and pink is nice okay sarah?
sarah & i are too upset with the way the muffins turned out, so perhaps i won't post pictures till i get it right. we did have fun decorating the cupcakes though, we've even named them, -the christmas tree, it snows in december, the mistletoe kiss & dinoland.
did you know the difference between baking soda and baking powder?

Both baking soda and baking powder are leavening agents, which means they are added to baked goods before cooking to produce carbon dioxide and cause them to 'rise'. Baking powder contains baking soda, but the two substances are used under different conditions.

Baking Soda

Baking soda is pure sodium bicarbonate. When baking soda is combined with moisture and an acidic ingredient (e.g., yogurt, chocolate, buttermilk, honey), the resulting chemical reaction produces bubbles of carbon dioxide that expand under oven temperatures, causing baked goods to rise. The reaction begins immediately upon mixing the ingredients, so you need to bake recipes which call for baking soda immediately, or else they will fall flat!

Baking Powder

Baking powder contains sodium bicarbonate, but it includes the acidifying agent already (cream of tartar), and also a drying agent (usually starch). Baking powder is available as single-acting baking powder and as double-acting baking powder. Single-acting powders are activated by moisture, so you must bake recipes which include this product immediately after mixing. Double-acting powders react in two phases and can stand for a while before baking. With double-acting powder, some gas is released at room temperature when the powder is added to dough, but the majority of the gas is released after the temperature of the dough increases in the oven

hello (: if you want any cookies you have to come find me, but there aren't many left. clar has been happily munching on them.

i dropped by paulaners to drop off alice's keys during brunch. i've never been there during brunch before, it actually looks quite happening (: with the extra tables and ballons.

the guys insisted on escorting me there, was quite funny, they acted like my armed bodyguards, they cleared all the spies & landmines.

soi asked alice "are those cheryl's friend or her sister's friends?"
alice says "i don't know, maybe both, they share friends one."
soi says "they look so young"

LOL. that's for you jeremy to shut up.
& so my mum thinks i need to hang out with ppl my age.
lol, not like i don't want to right.
---

I'll also be bringing more part timers to work, (: clar, joash & nick. i hope it'll be more fun, it's been rather quiet lately, since the other PTs are busy & havent been going to work lately. did i mention joash is my childhood friend, clar and i just met him again recently, lol it's so funny to see him all grown up. he used to be skinny & naughty & always finding ways to terrorise us.

---

we've went down to the main service to lead worship. i've quite enjoyed the set we played, the song selection was picked out to suit the older folks. it's the simplest set we've played in donkaye ages, but it went amazingly fun & smooth. i like the way simple songs have fun riffs with 7s.

ever since the set, baby girl has been singing to the tune of above all. and starting to show some interest in music.

i thought i would never like don moen's extra slow pieces. until i heard this one, it's stuck in my head, and on my music stand.

As we worship You, let all the world come and see
How the mercy we received from You can set them free
As we worship You, let all this joy that fills our hearts
Bring a hunger and a hope to those who strayed so far

As we bow in adoration and stand in reverent awe
Show Your majesty and glory, let Your anointing fall
As we declare Your name Lord Jesus as the only name who saves
May the power of Your salvation fill each heart we pray

As we worship You, let all the nations hear our song
Song of Jesus and His blood that proved His love for all
As we worship You, may all the lost and broken come
May they hear Your still small voice call out their names each one

As we worship You, let all the world come and see
How the mercy we received from You can set them free
As we worship You, let all this joy that fills our hearts
Bring a hunger and a hope to those who strayed so far

As we bow in adoration and stand in reverent awe
Show Your majesty and glory, let Your anointing fall
As we declare Your name Lord Jesus as the only Name who saves
May the power of Your salvation fill each heart we pray
As we worship You, as we worship You
As we worship You, as we worship You
As we worship You

i'm on a baking & cooking spree!

i cooked for clar, nicsy & my grandma on fri. (: we had mozarella & salmon spread on baguette, chicken fillet fold overs, and after8ights lol. claris needed her sugar shock.

i found a new baking buddy! (: sarah & i decided to try out some joy for the season, our favourtie time of the year (: she came over to bake yesterday. we made jam drops, chocolate sante fingers, chocolate rochers, lemon rind shortbreads coated in chocolate & almonds. so many recipes we want to try out, and perfect the taste and deco, to our liking. (:

cheryl says i hate it when the cookies look nice but taste awful.
sarah says i hate it when the cookies taste nice but looks awful.

so our only comprimise is that it has to look & taste good (: which isn't too bad a deal eh. haha.

berries & apricot jam drops

choclate rochers & lemon rind cookies
chocolate sante fingers

and ho! what better way to refresh after a hard day of work than a refreshing glass of lemonade! we made from the lemons we use to grate the rind.

not bad for our first try huh (: it tastes pretty good too. we'll perfect the taste & look before christmas! so we can make yummy christmas cookies (: our next target is muffins! in search for the ultimate muffin recipe.

oh oh! and we 've learnt lemon + chocolate , not a good combination, the bitter sweet chocolate kills all the sour lemon.

pictures from friday (: mwhahhaaa look at peipei. drinks at eski bar after da paolo. the food from da paolo was so yummy.

IT'S THE HOLIDAYS! (: and i've been making plans to keep myself busy. karen relates that to my childhood days, when i learnt to be busy, i had every single class there was to take, piano, ballet, tap dancing, swimming, arts & craft, chinese tuition, & phonetics classes. mmm, i wished i had picked up some ball sport too, im too much of a slob these days, maybe squashing, i used to play that!

POI, is busying myself has been a habit from young, not something i can get rid off easily, i love doing stuff all the time (:
i'm back! (:
